Santa has left the building...

Wow, see what I get for opening my mouth about the kids? They were up at 4:30am! Yeah you read that right..FOUR in the morning. Brad told them to go back to bed, haha. I believe we finally got up around 7am and let them tear into all the gifts. They seemed pleasantly suprised with all their gifts and are still up wanting to play with them at 9pm. I on the other hand, am asking if bedtime is here yet? Another wonderful Christmas come and gone.

We already took our tree down too. Let me tell you...that was downright scary. We always get our tree the day after Thanksgiving and boy oh boy was that one, crispy fire hazard. When we de-lighted the tree it looked like pine needle popcorn. Next year we are finally bitting the bullet and buying an artificial tree. They make ones now that are just so neat and real looking. I tried to get one on sale last week but they were out of the one I wanted. Bummer!

I'm going to try and herd the boys off to bed so I can get some sleep myself.

Merry Christmas to all!

Making the List and Checking it Twice...

Christmas Eve! Yay. My mom and Howard came over this afternoon and brought the boys' gifts. They got lost of fun stuff...Nerf dart war game, toooons of Pokemon cards, Transformer stuff, dominos, dinosaurs(two boxes worth) a race track, art supplies and then basic hygiene things. They have been quiet for a couple hours now which is really nice. They'll open Christmas jammies tonight from us and then they'll get to tear open their gifts in the morning. We'll see if we have to wake them up yet again or if this will finally be the year they beat us to the tree. So far we're 7-0.

We'll see how Brad's picture taking turned out. Maybe I'll have something to post.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Gearing up for Christmas...

Yeah, that's right...I said Christmas. But I won't go there right now.

Today was a fun day. I worked and after that Austin and I went to the boys school for the Christmas party. They had hot chocolate with Hershey kisses and candy canes then they exchanged books. Austin played with the blocks the entire time, he loves going to the school.

Our boys don't seem to excited about Christmas. I'm not sure why but they really never have. My guess is it's because we don't make a huge deal out of presents and whatnot. Back when the boys were much younger(lol, like they're so old now) we decided that in order for us to keep Christ as the center of Christmas we would give each boy three gifts to sybolize the gifts Baby Jesus received. They seem fine with that but most likely because Grandmas and Grandpas go over the top. Oh well, that's what I hear they're for anyway. *wink*

This weekend we have a Christmas Cantata at church that I've been practicing for the last 3 months for. It will be in the morning in place of church service. I also have a solo so I'm pretty excited about that...and scared to death. The boys have a Christmas play that night. It's set in a toy store and the entire set is made of new toys that will be donated to Toys for Tots after the play. We're cutting it a little close to Christmas but that's because all these activities were supposed to be last week. We got a massive snow storm and church was cancelled. Bummer!

Well Mom duty calls. Stay tuned.

New Beginnings

I'm very new to this blogging thing but I'm so bad at keeping up on paper so I thought I'd give this a go.

I'm hoping this will be a place I can just write about our family of monkeys, lovingly said of course. Our boys are so much fun but life in the Wilmoth house can be very trying most days. Our survival skills mainly consist of finding the silver lining in situations. Humor is also a big life-saver. "Are we there?" yet seems to be my mantra by the end of the day. Lol Hold onto your hats and climb in our barrel of monkeys. Did you bring the bananas or was that one more thing I forgot? Oy!
